Elvis is Pig-in-charge of a Welsh Borders farm. He looks after goats, sheep, guinea-pigs, chickens, ducks, quail, guinea fowl, rabbits and a family of humans. Elvis has to deal with foxes, trolls, ware-trees and escaping sheep, while keeping an eye on his farmer 'Old Neil'. A thoughtful fellow, he expounds on determinism, solecism, the secret war between the animate and the inanimate, and the pleasure of a good mud bath. Locals and visitors know Elvis very well and have learned much from him. As for the rest of us, he has a lot to pass on.
