Noel and Brea meet at university and fall in love, despite their very different backgrounds. From the start, Noel has no doubt that he will marry Brea. His mother, however, has other plans. She's chosen a well-connected future wife for him and is determined to separate him from Brea. Despite her opposition, they set up home and create a life together. Brea has a teaching placement at a school, where a student tells of her brother's false conviction for murder. Outraged, Brea writes his biography and then, those of others, forging a new career for herself. A move to Las Vegas reinvigorates his career and they each find their dream life, but for one thing. Then, separately, they meet Sandy and Stephanie Starr. Can their perfect marriage survive?
