Book Overview

The American Army has just gotten into WWII in North Africa when Morris Rosen lies his age to enlist at 17. Probably the greenest of many green recruits, Rosen is designated as a forward observer, so he must edge into enemy territory to radio back coordinates for artillery fire. His unit is dispatched to prevent a German invasion of Eisenhower's headquarters, a thinly disguised suicide mission. Rosen's mishaps are sometimes hysterically funny and unexpected but also steeped in danger. After many close calls in battle and two Purple Heart medals, Morris Rosen helps liberate prisoners from the concentration camp at Dachau.

Just the Facts

A good read if you are interested in a true story of a young man's journey into manhood at the mercy of WWII. The story takes us from the streets of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania all the way to the Gates of the Concentration Camp at Dachau. Marion Rosen has assembled the facts of one man's life and wrote a very interesting story. No opinions just the facts.
