Born into poverty and a world that seemed limited by his immediate environment, he knew he had to escape the city that violently took his mother and two brothers.
The feeling of helplessness, which led to being controlled by emotions brought on by struggle and personal family tragedies consumed him. However, through his Christian belief he never felt alone. Learning to find life's meaning behind some unfortunate events he turned to Christ, which became his greatest ally.
This is the story of a young boy that grew up much earlier than anyone should have too. He didn't let all of this control his future. With a desire to escape he dropped out of high school to join the U.S. Navy. While serving he understood education was necessary for his future and he embarked in evening courses that eventually led to a Graduate Degree, and a successful civilian career after he retired from the Navy.
Now fully retired, he volunteers at his church as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. He also is a Minister to the sick and homebound, which allows him to bring the church to those who are physically unable to attend church services.
With the wisdom of the Bible and cognitive research he shows how it is possible to live through life's mishaps optimistically. An inspiring story for anyone who has daily life challenges, he chronicles for anyone how they too can overcome various life obstacles.
