This is the story about the experience of a Jew during his visit to Pakistan. In Pakistan, I went on a journey in the Indian Himalayas: the northern part of Pakistan includes the western side of the Himalayas, the Hindu-Kush Mountains along the border with Afghanistan, and the high peaks of the Karakuram Mountains. As expected, the border crossing was almost deserted and, according to the behavior of immigration officials, it seemed as if I had violated the peace of their lunch. After rejecting the porters who wore me to carry my backpacks, I walked the only mile separating the two border stations, and my face received a large sign: "Long live the Islamic Republic of Pakistan", which reminded me that I was entering a state that actually operates as a Muslim state.
