For Amanda, Oshen, and Gulzar, life has been one gift after the next since the birth of their twins. Not only do they have Oshen's parents as a source of support, Amanda's best friend Jun has come to live next door with her mates Brin and Nuzal-and Jun's large, loud, and wonderful family who have been shipped straight to Venora from Earth.

As autumn falls back home on Earth, Amanda and a very pregnant Jun are homesick for their Hybrid Halloween celebration, a blend of American and Filipino traditions completely their own.
