Throughout the course of my life, I have gained an understanding of the importance of holistic discipleship in a community of faith. Being raised in a legalistic congregation that bore little fruit and later making a transition during college to a caring faith community, I now see the importance that a caring faith community plays in the process of discipleship. The church of my childhood demonstrated only judgment and a lack of care, but during college, I discovered that through a caring community the love of God and the affirmation of others
