The aim of this bibliography was to give a complete account of the literature relating to the Gypsies - good, bad, and indifferent. It includes, besides separately published books and pamphlets, papers in the proceedings of societies or periodicals, magazine articles, and important references in books dealing mainly with other subjects etc. Many of the earliest gypsy books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
