Obsolete, but if you can't get a newer edition...

This book is a classic -- only that there is a newer edition. There is no reason to get it unless you can't possibly get your hands on the fourth edition, from 1997.

My SQL friend

This is by far the best book I have read on this subject, I recommend it to anyone who want to get a good handle on SQL
