If you are looking at how to start your managed services IT practice for small business clients, this is a book to put in your library. Matt was the speaker at one of the Microsoft seminars, I recently attended. Matt delivered an excellent presentation on Selling Managed Services. I was so thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and expertise during the presentation, that I ran out to get his book without even looking at the table of contents or thinking twice about the price. The book far exceeded my expectations. It has a lot of valuable content, documents and sample contracts and agreements. The contents of the CD itself are worth more than the price of the book. I do not have to go out and pay an accountant or an attorney to get these documents prepared. I endorse this book whole heartedly and give it a 5 star rating. Being a small business owner, I understand the value of having a trusted advisor on your side. I joined his member community to be able tap into his knowledge, experience and wisdom on an ongoing basis. He conducts several webinars every month. A lot of information is shared between Matt and all the participants during these sessions and everyone benefits by learning from members' successes and failures, most importantly learn to avoid costly mistakes. Having Matt's book and the access to him through webinars is like having a trusted marketing, sales and technology advisor with me all the time. Great resource for anyone interested in or currently running a Managed Services business.

Being new to the Managed Services business I was looking for a good resource on the subject. I was pleasantly surprised by Matt's Book, he clearly explains all the steps necessary to run a successful Manage Service business. Every chapter contained insightful and helpful information. I particularly liked chapter 11 that focuses on handling client objections. I keep his book close by and refer to it often. This book along with " The Guide to a Successful Managed Services Practice" by Erick Simpson are great resources for anyone interested in or currently running a Managed Services business.

This book helped me realize that selling my time is not the way to get rich.

I have to say, this book sparked a new wave of excitement in my heart. After 15 years in the networking business, trading hours for dollars and spinning my wheels, I am ready to make my move to selling managed services instead. This book lays it all out, step by step. You can feel Matt's excitement from one chapter to another and certainly his excitement is contagious. The tools and suggestions that Matt provided have helped me make the most important decision since I started my business. If you are tired of trading your time for money, this book is for you. I discovered this book at a conference in Redmond, and had the pleasure of meeting the author, Matt Makowicz, at the event. As a small business owner, I do not have a lot of time for books, but something about this one struck me as worth-while, so I made sure to read it cover to cover. That was a big leap in the right direction for my business. "A Guide to Selling Managed Services" has many valuable concepts that help the reader construct service agreements properly right out of the gate. Matt walks you through creating, tailoring, selling and executing a service agreement with your clients in an easy to understand manor. He also makes a great case for why Managed Services is the way to go. I've been using "block rates" with my clients, not realizing the limitations of this approach. I now understand the benefits of service agreements, and, with the help of this book, have started moving my clients away from block rates, which is a good step forward for my business. Using the tools provided in this book, I feel confident that if I implement the ideas Matt suggests I will elevate my business to the next level and improve my bottom line. I highly recommend this comprehensive, well-written and relevant guide to Managed Services.
