very good test prep

This book is a very good resouce. I used this to prepair for the A+

Good, but a major technical error

The book does a pretty good job overall. It tends to go into too much detail in some areas and not enough in others.One major technical. In chapter 2 the author confuses I/O space of the microprocessor with the Interrupt vector table which is contained in memory. Table 2-1 for example defines the I/O address as the area in lower memory where the memory address of the device driver is stored. It's not. This is a description of an interrupt vector. The author doesn't seem to understand that Intel microprocessors have a separate I/O space which is used to communicate with hardware.

I was very impressed and extremely challenged by the book

The only problem I had using the book is there is not a location to verify my answers for end of chapter work problems. I heard I could find the answers on the internet but have not been able to locate them. My professor told me to email him with any questions I was having trouble withand he would email the ansers to me the anwers out of his book. There are so many questions I have that this would not be practicable. I heard that if you can work your way through these end of chapter questions that you will ace the A+ exam. I have learned a great deal from this book and wish I could learn more.

The best book for A+ Certification

I've been looking around to find a good book for my preparation on the A+ Cert. test. This is one of the best organized and easy to understand. I'm glad I found it on time!
