Rachel Ann Nunes writes a beautiful novel about love and fear and how the two do not mix if we want to trust and progress in our relationships with others. Many of us are paralyzed by fears. Ignorance can keep us from ever trying to overcome them or send us seeking answers and ways to move those fears out of the way of progress. Nunes develops her characters so well that you feel all that they are going through and why they have made the decisions they have in their lives. Facing those fears and admitting that you can not be an island unto yourself bring about a beautiful ending. The characters are very real and well developed. Their hopes and fears are valid and challenging. Love truly does overcome all. You won't be disappointed and you'll want to read it again, I promise.

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down until I finished it at three in the morning. I cryed, I screamed and I laughed. It made me realize that there are so many children out there in the world that need our help and how strong the power of love is. I feel like this is a book that could really make a difference in the world. This is a book that I highy recommend.

Reading 'A Greater Love' truly took me to a world that I rarely paid much attention to--until now. The author had me living the life through the eyes of an orphan child in Portugal who was forced to have more responsibility, and a much rougher life, than most adults could ever conceive of. It left a warm concern in my heart and the desire to take action of my own to help children in need. Quite the eye opener to the sheltered soul. Fabulous!
Memorable, passionate, inspirational.

Miguel Silva is a street orphan who will do anything to avoid the wrath of his alcoholic aunt, and to keep his little sister Sara happy. He and Sara roam the streets of Portugal, begging and stealing to feed and clothe themselves. A sudden twist of fate throws them into an even colder world, where their only change for survival are Daniel and Cristina Andrade, a couple who are childless by choice. Daniel Andrade has put his bitter past behind him and found a new life with Cristina. But the past returns in force when Miguel steals his wallet on the ferry, throwing into motion a series of unstoppable events. Daniel doesn't want to face the secrets of the past or open his heart to anyone -- yet that is exactly what he must do or face losing everything he loves. Cristina Andrade also has secrets. Now she must choose between her husband and the deep longing in her heart. Unless there is a compromise, and only Miguel can help find the way -- but time for Miguel is running out. Can the Savior's love heal them all before it's two late? A Greater Love is a memorable, passionate, and inspirational novel of love, humanity, desperation, shame, need, and deliverance.
