Journey to a Higher Place

If someone is living with a physical disability or handicap in their life and seem stuck with the illness or handicap being their identity, this book will help to reveal new light into their situation. I appreciated her openness as a pastor's wife. There were times where she wondered where God was in her ongoing physical situation. She even expressed anger at times because of what was happening. When several years have gone by though, she looks back on her life. She sees how the Lord has blessed her in so many ways. Her husband, her two little boys, women friends from church and the community, her doctors, nurses, she can see "Jesus with skin on" in relationship to their sharing in her life's walk. One of the major points is that whatever she is going through, she arrives at a gentle quiet peace that the Lord is taking care of it, and that she can put herself in His hands and be at peace - no more struggling.She looks for the little blessings in each day of living rather than wait for some major event to have to unfold in her life. Through it all, she comes to learn to be able to comfort others with the comfort that she herself has received from the Lord.She doesn't get rid of her lupis, but she rises above it. Her identity is not the lupis, but as a child of the living God.
