Thoroughly Biblical, Thoroughly Practical

Dr. Larry Mercer has penned one of the most thorough books on biblical parenting available today. "A Gift from God" could easily be entitled "Spiritual Coaching" or "Coaching Your Children in the Spiritual Olympics," for it provides a biblical, practical model for mentoring, discipling, and coaching your children. Mercer follows the Deuteronomy 6:1-9 process of parental modeling, parental formal teaching, and parental informal life training. "A Gift from God" teaches parents how to parent with dedication (dependence upon God), discernment (wisdom from God's Word), devotion (loving children), discipline, and discipleship.
