Death visits all of us at some point in our lives. It could be someone close a family member, or just a friend. Seventeen-year-old Ronald Lewis had to face life's darkest moments alone, He lost both his mother and father in an apartment fire on Chicago's westside. Since Ronald did not have any other kin close by his Aunt Beatrice takes Ronald in. She lives in Gadsden Alabama.it is a small town not far from Birmingham. Ronald Lewis was born and raised in Chicago, moving to the deep south is a culture shock to him. Many things his aunt B ignores Ronald will fight for. The translon is hard at first Ronald is bored out of his mind, but then he meets a beautiful Hispanic girl, Isabella. Ronald's life in Alabama has improved. Like most teenagers Ronald and Isabella fall into each other's arms and have sex. Isabella took Ronald to a special place on the other side of Fall's Lake. During their moment of high passion in Aunt B's car, they are surrounded by people. These dead people are watching them. Ronald finds out from a physic that he is a medium, someone who attracts ghosts. One by one people are killed in Falls Lake their sprits gather in the other world. Ronald and Isabella had only been dating six months when a very bad thunderstorm moves through the area. Ronald is at the library with his book club and Aunt B is in her bowling league. Isabella's mother is working she is home alone. Isabella is terrified she sees a man at her back door trying to get in. Isabella's murder leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
