Driving through trees can be just that - driving by trees; but after reading "A Ghost Among Giants", you will see trees in a new light. Trees in Northern California are different than any where else in the world. You will also start seeing small towns in a completely different light. A tree will not be "just a tree". Trees offer their own gift to where they stand, but were unappreciated until a few people devoted their lives to saving what was put on this earth before them. Since a few people, who came before us, went through great hardship to preserve what we now have. Only after walking through the forests of Northern California all their efforts have kept these giants alive for us to see. Among the trees, unique to Northern California, sits a hotel that is also unique. Hotel guests were sure they were staying at just another old hotel, but most will tell you it is not "just another old hotel".
