Marriage and Life Changing!

My husband raves about this incredible book, even though he's never read it! He has commented several times on the obvious changes in my character as a result of the principals in this book. Virginia Lefler is not only spiritual and biblical in this incredible breakdown of a wife's role and worth to God, but she's practical. There are clear examples of what to do and how to do it, in order to follow God's plan in your marriage. My life is now less stressful and confusing as I am following the scriptures and Virginia's down to earth advice based on 34 years of her own successful marriage. Upon meeting her recently, I realized that she practices what she preaches and enjoys the peace that comes along with being a Gentle Quiet Spirit. If you want to be a peaceful and happy wife, get this book!

Very Intense Book!! Very Good!!!

This is a very powerful book. I was not able to read it all at one time, becuase the lessons are so big and powerful that I have needed time between chapters at times to work thru the issues they have brought up, which is exactly what you want in a spiritual lesson book. There have been many nights when my husband comes home and I have a list of apoligies for him on how I am not fullfilling my role as a wife and how that has hurt or hindered him. This is a fantastic book that every christian woman should read.

Amazing!!!

What an amazing book! It was as if Virgina had been in my marriage since day one! She was able to touch on fears and desires of the average woman and was then able to calm our anxious hearts and help us move on, not only through her words, but through the scriptures. I have to confess that at times it was hard to read, because I was convicted by my attitudes and my behavior toward my husband. But I kept going back to the book, it drew me in. I am forever thankful for Ms Lefler and her wisdom. I am sure that my husband and family are grateful as well.

The truth of having a gentle and quiet spirit

I highly recommend this book because it has greatly helped me to gain deeper convictions on what it really means to respect and submit to my husband and it truly has helped me feel so much closer to him. I am more in touch with my fears and the reasons that I disrespect. The author not only uses so many real-life and relatable examples, but also scriptures that that are very helpful for women to hold on to and put into practice daily. I usually don't refer back to books, but this book is outstanding, and I often refer to it and read it over and over again, to remind me of the biblical principles.

A Great Book on Marriage and Other Relationships

Wow--this tiny book (141 pages) packs a powerful punch! The author, an elder's wife, uses Scripture, personal examples, and worksheets to help readers see the true condition of their spirits. She also teaches the meanings behind the words of several key Bible passages as they apply to our relationships with others so that we can apply those passages properly. Although this book is very helpful in dealing with the marriage relationship, I find it to be convicting as I examine my relationships with other women, as well. More than once, the teachings it presents have stopped me from reacting to a situation and making it worse! Ms. Lefler does a great job of not being preachy or condescending; she simply comes across as a friend who cares and wants to help you have a spirit that (as the subtitle says) is "of great worth to God".
