A Fresher's Travels

This is a story about my university student days, a teenager let loose into the big wide world by himself and the initial drama of university life for a Fresher in the first year. There were many new experiences, obstacles to overcome and challenges to face.

From an early age, I had an adventurous spirit. During spare time at weekends and holidays, I would travel. Students are poor and travel can be expensive but that didn't deter me. I just scrimped and saved.

I investigated my new university city and its surroundings. After exhausting all the new opportunities nearby, I travelled abroad on a shoestring budget. Despite multiple adverse events, I was not dissuaded from my quest to explore the world and continued to set off on trips to places like East Germany behind the Iron Curtain and Greece, sometimes with minimal planning but I was young and confident.
