captivated

I was totally captivated by the pictures painted of the prairies and the characters in "A Fine Daughter". Each person was flawed in some small way, in other words, human. By the time I reached the end of the book I felt so involved with each character I couldn't bear to leave them behind. Loved it!

Prairie Gem

This book reconnected me to the prairies that I grew up in. The author's words joined pathways of memory that I had forgotten, she returned me to a childhood I had filed away as completed. I honor her for making me young again.

this was an amazing insight into the life of miss simmons

This book will change the way you look at the world.

Catherine Simmons Niven gives us a view of people and their most intimate inner thoughts and views. Many people will read this novel and immediately marvel at the captured memory shared. It is through the author's truly original thoughts that we are exposed to the most simple and common acts that are enhanced and honoured in such an imaginative easy way. Her words slide out of her pen and into our hearts. I feel I am a better appreciator of life for having read this book and I look forward to listening for the creak of butterfly wings smelling the colour of the moon......
