A Fighting Man of Mars

By: Burroughs, Edgar Rice

Honor, warfare, and survival collide across the deserts and cities of Barsoom in a struggle that tests loyalty and courage.

In A Fighting Man of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tan Hadron of Hastor, a skilled warrior and soldier of Mars, becomes entangled in danger after attempting to rescue the woman he loves from political intrigue and betrayal. When circumstances force him into exile and conflict with powerful enemies, he must navigate the deadly landscapes and rival factions of Barsoom while fighting to restore his honour.

Separated from allies and pursued by enemies, Tan Hadron encounters hidden cities, dangerous warriors, and shifting loyalties across the dying red planet. His journey leads through battles, daring escapes, and confrontations with forces seeking power through deception and violence. Along the way, alliances are forged in the midst of constant danger as war threatens to engulf entire Martian nations.

Unlike earlier Barsoom adventures centered on John Carter, the novel follows a native Martian hero whose perspective reveals new dimensions of Barsoomian culture, warfare, and society. Courage, discipline, and determination become essential as Tan Hadron struggles against overwhelming odds.

Filled with action, romance, and imaginative world-building, A Fighting Man of Mars continues Edgar Rice Burroughs' legendary Barsoom saga with another thrilling tale of adventure on the red planet.
