America the Beautiful ~ the way it used to be One Nation Under God

Beautiful book, with beautiful art prints by G. Harvey. I read this book all the way through December up to Christmas. The stories touched my heart & I found tears in my eyes as I read about the real meanings of Christmas. I also love the artwork of G. Harvey. He paints America the way it used to be. When people were good, honest, kind, descent, caring people. He paints pictures of Washington D.C. of the Capitol building, when God Blessed America, when our government officials were good, honest, descent people. Now Washington isn't even on the same planet as the rest of the USA and D.C. means D.oesn't C.are. I also liked the commentary by Dr James Dobson between stories & prints. This is an exceptional book, worth way more than you can buy it for. It's a keeper. Beautiful book of how America used to be, America the Beatiful God Shed His Grace on thee.. from sea to shining sea. Just reminds me of how far we have come.. and the distance is not good.

Good Christmas book!

I liked the stories in here. They weren't as sappy as some Christmas stories get, although there was plenty of sentiment. A few were rather unique. The illustrations were nice, although not as nice as the front cover led me to believe. Overall I was touched by the stories & enjoyed reading the book. It was also nice to have a book without too much focus on death & tragedy. There was a bit, but I'm getting tired of so many Christmas books being about sad subjects. This one had a good mix, & you felt uplifted after all of them.
