Description When Gavin Penfold finished work that evening, he was thinking only of looking forward to an evening drink with his wife before dinner at their beautiful home in the country. But his journey was soon brutally interrupted by men who hijacked his car, gagged and blindfolded him, before wedging him in the back well. One of these mysterious captors drove Gavin's car while the other two guarded him on the journey to he knew not where. On the way, the car hit and seriously injured a woman who then inevitably became involved in the kidnappers' plans. Soon Gavin was forced to learn that in certain circumstances it was easier for the police and the lawyers to believe a lie than the truth.
