A page turner!

This is one of the most exciting books I have read in a long time, I just couldn't put it down. I read the entire book in 3 sittings.Once you get involved with these characters and the situations they find themselves in, you cannot tear yourself away!The action never stops.Several co-workers were reading this book at the same time and we had daily discussions on what actors could portray these characters in the movie version.We could definitely see this being turned into an action-packed thriller! Tom Parks did an incredible job with this book. I've recommended " A Distant Crossing" to anyone who'll listen...I can't say enough good things about it!

Gripping

What a story premise! A man taken from his comfort zone and put into circumstances beyond comprehension. The characters jump out from the pages. They are alive and will not be easily be forgotten. A remarkable effort for a first time author.

Couldn't Get Enough!

Wow! I just finished this book after only 3 sittings and was amazed at just how involved I was with the characters. This "fictional" story and the events that unfold reveal some very chilling and sobering thoughts. I couldn't help but think "this really could happen" to us. A great action/adventure read that lets up just enough for the reader to catch their breath.

A Must Read ? Action Packed ? Full of Suspense

Before reading "A Distant Crossing", I was apprehensive about the subject matter. It seemed likely more appealing to men than to women. Having been glued to its pages from beginning to end, I can now say that anyone who reads this book will gain hours of enjoyment. It tells a story of how a decent, caring individual can find themselves in the most tragic of circumstances. The reader will experience the full gamut of emotions - from joy to sorrow and desparation - from serenity to chaos - from beauty to repulsiveness. "A Distant Crossing" causes the reader to ponder the lifestyles and values that we all take for granted. I highly recommend it.

A surprising find

I picked "A Distant Crossing" to fill the time on a long flight. An excellent read that holds on to the reader. This book is outstanding. Stayed up late that night in the hotel room to finish it. Now I'm trying to put together the movie cast.
