Love this series, quality was misleading

Purchased as Very Good condition, but it's so warped from water damage. I never would have paid money for a book this badly damaged. Disappointed for sure, because I love this series and was excited to have it on my shelf!

A favorite I keep rereading

Something about this trilogy has kept me fascinated for the last several years. I've reread them many times. The setup involves magical teenagers going to a school which is completely separated from the outside world...for reasons which are at once pretty ridiculous, and at the same time, tremendously engaging. The magic -- this is usual with Novik -- is a brilliantly thought through system. Characterizations are vivid.

Can't put it down!

At first I was unsure about the writing style, but now I can't put it down and can't wait to finish the trilogy. Fantastic fantasy series!
