Some of the best stories will make you laugh out loud!

When I started to read these short anecdotes, I was reminded what a stoic yet witty sense of humor people of the North-East of Scotland have. I found myself laughing out loud more often than not. The book is divided into groupings of like stories (School-time, at the doctor, around town, embarrassing moments, etc.) each about 1-2 paragraphs in length. Short, witty anecdotes cataloguing the daily lives of the people of the NE. are recounted usually with a pithy Doric punch-line. I was constantly surprised by the humanity and hilarity of the majority of these stories. An entertaining read for any of those who have some background in the Doric dialect. I look forward to their next compilation! Don't try reading this one in a library, you might be asked to leave! I found it hard to remain silent while reading this book.
