A thriller with a message

A story that could happen to many of us, yet hopefully does not follow the path of this thriller, but who knows? What makes this book so different from others I guess, are the different messages that the author sends us throughout his novel. It's well written, well balanced and ... with a twist in the tail. The characters are very real, the events very plausible and the suspense is tangible. Peter Cavelti's book brought me something more than just the thrill and the pleasure reading it. I warmly recommend it.

A Dangerous Remedy

This excellent read held my attention from page l to the last paragraph. As the plot unfolds the reader is treated to an exciting story that is both intriguing and morally challenging. The author's meticulous descriptions of the stories various locales particularly those in Canada were an educational experience in themselves. The character's thoughts and logic are dramatically brought forth to allow the reader to reflect as to what actions he or she would have taken under similar circumstances. It would make a wonderful motion picture.

A remedy worth reading.

Peter Cavelti's new book, "A Dangerous Remedy," is a somber, fascinating look at a couple's descent into a moral quagmire. Christian Unger and Claudia Talbot are driven by Claudia's abusive ex-husband, David Talbot, whom they perceive as an imminent threat to their well-being, into taking a drastic action that will impact on everyone's life. Christian and Claudia decide to control their own destinies, and not to allow another person to do it for them. But at what cost? This question is the crux of Mr Cavelti's entertaining and thought-provoking novel. Not unlike Christian and Claudia, the reader must constantly assess the situation as the (moral) ground shifts beneath. Their story is told by their best friend, Jake, but even he admits he is not completely reliable. "A Dangerous Remedy" raises timeless questions for the reader to consider: What is necessary? Does the end justify the action? Who is telling the truth? What constitutes evil? Mr Cavelti's engrossing novel deals with major themes. The careful, empathetic reader of "A Dangerous Remedy" will reap great rewards that will linger long afterwards.

A fascinating read...what would you do?

Peter is a wonderful writer who captures both his characters and places in a way that puts you smack into the story and you want to know what's coming next. A Dangerous Remedy is a page turner wherin an ordinary man is pushed beyond rational limits and takes actions that will amazing and confound you and leave you wondering what you would have done in the same situation. It's an emotional ride that you won't be able to put down.
