Two Thumbs Up

If you're a fan of metaphysical mind mysteries, love stories, and old fashioned good vs. evil novels then A Cry for a Hero by Jonathan Womack needs to be your next read. I won't go into the story summary, other reviewers have done so, but I will say that this action-packed book had me hooked from page one. Womack explores the very plausible idea that a superhero exists in the soul of even the most regular guy--in this case, Jack Ramsey. But as we know, with great power comes great responsibility. Is Jack, aka RAM, up for the challenge? He is, and without giving anything away I'll say that both the good ole US of A and the reader benefits! The story ends satisfactorily--tying up all the loose ends, but it also leaves the possibility that there will be more adventures of Ram. Looking forward to the sequel!

WOW!

A++++++ This novel just drew me in deeper by the minute to where I could not think of anything else! The author, Jonathan Womak, has a captivating way of weaving such an intricate web of stories, heroes, and villains - each one interesting and complex. The storyline had everything from action, sci-fi and suspense, to romance and humor. Even the not so scientifically gifted (like me) will understand it. It will make you step back and second guess your thoughts of reality. I think anyone could identify with the hero, because who hasn't wanted to be a superhero at least once in his or her lifetime. And to think, it could be as simple as 'playing dead' - or COULD it? Look out Stephen King, HEEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!!

A Cry For a Hero

A truly enjoyable read. Jon Womack's stimulating adventure will keep you enthralled and interested right to the end. This book has a little something for everyone. If you liked anything from Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Dan Brown, Anne Rice, Michael Crichton, or Orson Scott Card, then you will like this book by Jonathan Womack. A very interesting melding of Sci-Fi, and the real fear of terrorism present in today's modern society. "A Cry For a Hero" a one of a kind piece of work, very worth your interest. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

A Refreshing Psi-Fi

A fast read but not too fast, kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the entire book. A good job of jumping back and forth between characters without loosing the continuity of the storyline. I like the use of psychic power without delving too much into the realm of fantasy, the military use and exploration of psychic kinetic powers seems entirely plausible. A very important aspect of good science fiction. The introspection of Ram is also entirely plausible and one finds oneself identifying with the main character in a manner of how would I react if this happened to me. Reminiscent of Neuromancer by William Gibson. I would recommend this highly!

A 2005 Best Seller!

A Cry for a Hero will be on the BEST SELLERS list for 2005! Read and believe in this dynamic new author, Jonathan Womack and what he has to say about his very own out-of-body experience and how he so intimately weaves it into a thrilling tale of superhero adventurer vs. terroist. Written before 9/11.... the author's virtual premonition will astound you as to the similarity to our history's real turn of events. Nancy Cullis, Literary Guild - Evaluation Specialist
