a crow,a physicist,and softball

When I look back upon the 71-year personal history that defines me, I appreciate how participation in the sport of softball enriched my life. Many of the softball experiences were cast with the most improbable characters. I can still conjure up a vivid softball story which involved a talking crow, still another with a peg-leg neighbor, and yet another with a Russian Nobel-Prize physicist. Many of these stories were cast in equally odd cites like the Sorenson free-range pig farm.I also found cultural reports which discussed how and where softball started. I learned the more intimate details to playing this sport. Deeper still were answers for the batter at the plate wondering how to hit the ball the farthest. There was information on how serious wind conditions and humidity were on the flight of the ball. If the reader finds the cultural facts presented in this book as equally interesting as the technical ones, then this book will have accomplished its purpose.
