This is the story of a perfect English suburban neighbourhood. Or is it?
Set in a new semi-rural residential community, it is complete with twitching blinds, rebellious teenagers and a Pandora's box of human weaknesses and dreams.
Zo and Andy Burrows and their two children move into Clover Close in Hampshire, full of hope and excitement, but at the same time with a very specific motive. What they find are underlying currents of intrigue and intolerance, mixed with international politics and the scars of modern life, which result in anything but an idyllic life in clover. In fact, their experiences lead to some very close things indeed, in more ways than one.
Filled with humour and emotion, and enough tea and cake to sink a battleship, this is a tale of modern life, modern love and modern hatred, all mixed well and baked at a very low temperature until golden brown on the surface. But inside it is barely sweet at all.
Suitable for 16yrs+
