A van explodes in a ball of flames on London's Bow Street and Bob Kennedy as the senior fire investigation officer for London Fire Brigade is requested to attend fearing a possible terrorist has struck in the capital. Surveying the scene and gathering the evidence it is clear this incident was a deliberately planned fire. But as other fires soon come to light Bob uncovers a serial arsonist is playing a dangerous game on the streets.

With the time ticking and the risks increasing he will call on some old friends and meet some new ones to help solve the crimes in an attempt to track down the mysterious person lighting up the streets.

The trail will lead Bob and his associates across London and its transport networks with additional information from the military adding more pressure on them to find their man and soon.
