When a sword whispers promises of strength and revenge, who could resist wielding it?

Raziel watched the Rhotian Empire slaughter his family. A sentient sword promises him the head of the emperor. Blade in hand, he carves a bloody path toward the capital as the sword infiltrates his mind.

A girl named Alicia joins him. She bears a heavy burden in the form of a magical ability to hear emotions and manipulate them. Terrified of losing her humanity to the magic, she must face the dark temptations that threaten to overwhelm her. Together, they fight the empire and their own internal demons as they travel to the capital.

The emperor grows more paranoid with every tale of the two children and sends a vicious group of mercenaries to hunt them down. As his ministers whisper behind his back, he must find a way to control his empire, no matter the cost.

Eerie banshees shriek across the land, joining the hunt. Raziel and Alicia must face their mortal enemies and inner demons lest they succumb to the darkness that surrounds them. They must learn to trust one another if they hope to survive.
