The purpose of this book is to examine the theoretical proposition from Bandura's (1986) Theory of Learning that environment and ethnicity and gender make a difference to the measures of locus of control, self efficacy, and self esteem. No prior studies have examined these relationships specific to the African-American male adult population in a highly structured environment. This study examines the veracity of a foundational principle of Bandura's Theory of Learning as applied to African-American males. This study will include multidisciplinary approaches seeking a way to educate our African American boys. The population will look at public schools, charter schools, military students along with the Afrocentric vs. non Afrocentric approach to education and its effects on this population.
