We were always told not to name things on the ranch. The seasonal nature of cattle, stray animals, and migratory birds meant that attachment was a luxury that a ranch can't afford. This story is inspired by true events of a grandmothers compassion for a curious, affectionate, and nameless cow.

No Name lived a long healthy life as a resident member of the Whitworth Ranch herd and easily crossed the threshold from livestock to family pet.
