A Bridge to Eden is one of the best books I've ever read. Not only was its message powerful and enlightening, but it shows you how love can truly make miracles happen. You are introduced to a character who believes that too much sanity is insane and that miracles require faith and determination. I recommend this book to anyone who has faith in love and in the human spirit.

This is one of the most uplifing books I have ever read. Written in the style of Bridges of Madison County, A Bridge to Eden is the story of Ben and Morgan Riveridge and how their devotion to one another is surpassed by nothing, not even death. If you have ever lost someone you love, you need to read this triumphant story written by Turrill.
Metaphoric dynamism

After a week of murders, threats, sadness, and the talk of war it was a pleasure reading 'A Bridge To Eden.' It is a book filled with hope. Turrill takes a devasting death (the protagonists wife of thirty years)and turns this sadness and grief into something the reader will never forget. I guarantee it will touch your heart.'Bridge' can be read on many levels; as a straight story, an allegoric tale, or as literary fiction. I prefer the later. The book is filled with metaphor, indeed, the author coins a term 'metaphoric dynamism' to explain the protoganists outlook on life. The author also discusses 'edenic time' bringing to mind such authors as Ian Mcewan, Mark Helprin, and Kundera.Maybe it is just me, but there is plenty of depressing fiction out there. This book also could have turned into a 'grief-fest', instead the author, with his alchemic mix of psychological science, magic, and deep abiding faith has turned his novel into a celebration life and hope.I would encourage anyone who has suffered personal loss, anyone who has had enough of depressing novels, or anyone who enjoys beautiful literate prose to buy this book.
Bridging the Great Divide

This is an excellent novel about the power of love. It's a touching tale expertly told by an exceptional author. It presents the reader with much food for thought, but it is not 'preachy.' It examines the way our lives a so precisely pieced together in such a way to leave the reader amazed. A must read.
