A Bit about This and That

The two generations before me knew nothing about prosperity seminars and self-help books but yet they survived a "Dust Bowl," the "Dirty Thirties," two world wars, the Great Depression, and abject poverty. To America and the world at large they are remembered for their sacrifices, steadfastness, and survivability. But to me they were my parents and grandparents. To them I owe a great debt of gratitude because they taught me many things about commitment, community, and caring for my fellow man. Through the lens they gave me, I have watched and learned about the world around me. This book is about having lived just long enough to learn a bit about this and that. It's about relationships and family. For example, in every relationship where vows are exchanged someone has to take on the role of grown up to keep those vows intact. It's about downturn seasons and surviving life's unanticipated events. It's about listening to the inner voice that's never audible but always present. The book has one objective: To encourage the reader to stay the course. If past generations endured the gates of hell, how much more should we as a generation that has been given more than any other in the history of mankind.
