This volume presents a selection of the author's papers published over the past two decades, most of which are research findings on classical Chinese theatre documents. The book is organized into four sections: Studies on Ming-Qing Theatre Documents, Studies on Court Theatre of the Qing Dynasty, Studies on Peking Opera Documents, and Studies on Mulian Theatre. The author previously devoted significant effort to the cataloguing and organization of the library collection of Fu Xihua (known as the Biqu Library), a renowned specialist in theatre documents. The essay included herein, "Fu Xihua's Research and Writings and His Theatre Collection," offers a systematic and comprehensive review of Fu's scholarly oeuvre, provides a classified introduction to some of the rare theatre texts formerly held in the Biqu Library, and exposes the plundering of the Biqu collection by Kang Sheng during the Cultural Revolution. The author also investigates the Nanfu (Southern Office) play manuscripts of the Qing court, tracing the various tune systems used in Nanfu performances. In the court grand operas Dingzhi Chunqiu (The Spring and Autumn of the Tripod Era) and Zhongyi Xuantu (The Auspicious Diagram of Loyalty and Righteousness), the author identifies the appearance of the terms "Kuaxi" (barbarian opera) or "Kuaqiang" (barbarian tune), thereby pushing back the earliest documented occurrence of "Kuaxi" in scholarly literature from the seventh year of the Jiaqing reign (1802) to the mid-Qianlong period. Combining documentary research on Peking Opera with fieldwork, the author also offers new interpretations of the scripts, performances, and related folkloric features of Mulian theatre. 本书所收文章，是作者从近20年来发表的论文中精选而来，大部分是对古典戏曲文献的研究心得。全书共分四编：明清戏曲文献研究、清代宫廷戏剧研究、京剧文献研究、目连戏研究。作者曾长期从事对戏曲文献专家傅惜华碧蕖馆藏书的整理编目工作，所撰《傅惜华的研究著述与其戏曲收藏》一文，对傅惜华一生的研究著述进行了系统而全面的评述，对碧蕖馆旧藏部分戏曲珍籍予以分类介绍，并对康生在**中对碧蕖馆藏书的掠夺进行了揭露。作者对清宫南府曲本予以研究，梳理了南府演戏的诸种腔调，发现宫廷大戏《鼎峙春秋》《忠义璇图》剧本中，即已出现"侉戏"或"侉腔"一词，由此将学界普遍认为的"侉戏"首次出现在文献中的时间由清代嘉庆七年提前到乾隆中期。作者还将京剧文献研究与田野调查结合，对目连戏的剧本、演出和相关民俗特点提出新解。
