"good vibes only" ...hasn''t science, however, confirmed that our world can be understood as being composed of vibrating energies? don''t our smartphones also remind of magnetic and radio fields operating around us at all times? ...the physical world IS vibrations, no? we are vibrations, eh? isn''t speech vibration? isn''t movement? don''t your thoughts result in speech and movement? --in vibration? you grok that energy?8MEANING - ...how is it that the same event can mean different things to different people? how do we create meaning in and/or give meaning to and/or take meaning from the world? isn''t this closely related to the IDENTITY section?8VIRTUAL REALITIES - loaded phrase here, maybe? we mostly associate ''VR'' with different kinds of audio-video headgear and computers, etc., yes? those are the easy examples... ...what else? how about (since it''s october in the south) the college football rankings? what kinds of realities do those little numbers create? --where will espn broadcast from this weekend? ...or how about fantasy football? those leagues are little virtual worlds, virtual realities, yes? world of warcraft? the sims? zelda? any game? any book? what else? maybe there are other types of VRs? discipleship?8FIGURE-GROUND PERCEPTIONS - "we''re not sure who discovered water but we''re pretty sure it wasn''t a fish." wouldn''t it seem then that some of the environments we exist in are likely often invisible to us too? ...anyway, doesn''t this thesis have something to do with the reformation or Jesus or something? fair. then, may we take as ''figure'' your relationship with Jesus? ...what then is the ''ground''? ...might we as well analyze Jesus a bit more? try and understand him a bit more? may be a valuable exercise to consider the historical ''figure'' of Jesus and the historical ''ground'' from and/or through which He emerged? bc, doesn''t that seem a fairly interesting time and place? with respect to culture, communications, etc., what was different then? what was the same? etc.8THE NOOSPHERE - know of this ''ground''? do you know this word ''noosphere''? maybe it means something like "the global brain". electric communication is, for all intents and purposes and relative to all prior communication technologies, instantaneous. similar to the ''biosphere'', the noosphere is a realm of human thought, communication, and culture. what are the implications of living with and using the "global brain"? how does it help or extend or amplify our selves? how does it hurt or internalize or amputate ourselves? how does it change the concept of a "self"? where''s marshall mac when you need him?8featuring mcluhan, nietzsche, alan watts, mckenna, kevin kelly, bateson, doctorow, gaiman, pkd, vonnegut, robert anton wilson, william blake, metaprogramming, and much++ more.
