The book "8 Seasons - Haiku" consists of three parts. The first section "The Garden", is an homage to the seasons, to the changing weather through the year, to how plants change, and to how the eight seasons make their impact on us all. Living by the Trondheim-fjord, experiencing the tides, the clouds, the birds, the plants, and how we all are part of each other, was the source of inspiration for the author. The second section, "The Way", is centered around a series of ten old Chinese paintings. In the Chinese tradition the process of knowing and realizing the Self, is described as the process of ox-taming. For each of them Holthe is giving his comments in the form of a Haiku. The third section, "The Gardener", is an attempt to summarize the whole, underlining the unity of the "8 Seasons".
