The 72 angels of the Shem Hamephorash are derived from an ancient Jewish tradition that assigns a specific name and purpose to each of the 72 letters in the Hebrew name for God (Source), known as the Tetragrammaton. These angels are believed to hold immense power and serve as intermediaries between humans and the divine.

The 72 Angels of Shem HaMephorash are opposite to the 72 Demons of Goetia from a polarity standpoint. They both play their roles in the divine balance of the universe.
