Before selecting this book you may have thought you were "happy" or satisfied with your life. This is not by any means to disregard your attempt to be happy but to introduce you to a different compass.
Happiness is defined as a state of feeling based on external circumstances. So, what if the market crashes? What if we lose our husband in a tragic accident? What if all hell breaks loose and we begin to lose hope? What then? Will we still be happy? Probably not.
We will be miserable, anxious, grieved, perplexed, panicked, depressed and maybe even suicidal. Happiness is like a 15 year old school girl who has a crush on a boy one day and the next day has a crush on another boy. Happiness can't be trusted. It is fickle. It runs into hiding when life gets shaky.
When I was younger it was a great desire of mine to be "happy". Now that I am older I have discovered that there is no such thing as lifetime happiness but I found something even better... joy.
Journey with me through these pages as we uncover joy in all its fullness.
