The diary opens at Redford Calais on 2 January 1917. 1917 is spent at Achiet Le Grand, Monument Commomoratif, Bus-Les-Artois, Haplincourt and Ercheu-Le-Grand. 1918 is the most travelled year, 27 places against 17 in the next busiest, and is spent at Tincques Ecuire, Courcelles-le-Couple, Estourmel and Authie. 1919 at Duren, Schleiden and Clipstone.
