Darling Book with lots of recipes

Some of my fellow library compadres thought I might like this book. I read it sitting next to a friend on the bus after work that day and we oohed and ahhed over the recipes. Yes recipes. They're on every page that has a bento dish on it. I am truly flummoxed as to folks saying there are no recipes. There are 501 of them on nearly every page with great photos to boot. I say check the book out in the library first, then decide to buy it. I will buy it. It's the opposite of disappointing.

Superb Bento Book - I know my bento!

This is an AMAZING bento book. To the other that have rated this low - I think I got a different book! There are all kinds of great photos, the book is a handy size and there are tons of tips, tricks and recipes. You don't really need a cookbook for doing bento - the Japanese make bento books just like this of course (in Japanese though) and I have purchased a number of them just for the photos. I LOVE this bento book, it is really a bento idea book and does a remarkable job at that. I highly recommend this book and I have been making bento and collecting bento boxes for many years. This has some cute bento but also other kinds of bento too. The idea is to stimulate YOUR OWN CREATIVITY which this does in spades. I am so happy I ignored the other reviews here and hope that bento enthusiasts will ignore them too and buy this book. You will not be disappointed and you will find the urge to create bento increased by tenfold!

Even the book is yummy,

I bought this as a gift, then had trouble giving it up. And I don't even care much for many of these foods ! This book is a tiny gem, with every dish a work of art. If you like to cook, especially if you are a fan of Asian cooking, particularly Bento style, BUY THIS BOOK.

A lot of creative ideas to get your bento juices flowing

I seem to be in the minority, but I really like this book and I'm happy I purchased it. I am a very visual person and the bright gorgeous pictures provided a lot of inspiration to me to begin creating my own bento works of art. There are recipes and instructions so you can duplicate any of the orginial creations. I'm going to start creating my own when I go back to work in the fall. Maybe this book is more for beginners rather than those with a lot of experience at this art. I found it to be a lot fun and really inspiring.
