Some of the best bedtime stories for children ever written

The only negative aspect of this book is that the stories are not 5-minutes in length as claimed in the title. By the time you read through the text, stopping when appropriate to show the pictures and do any necessary explanation, about ten minutes will have elapsed. However, this is not a problem, as the level of interest generated in the child will make it more than worth it. These are some of the best short bedtime stories ever written and the illustrations are colorful and will catch the eye of the child. The characters are everything from a gingerbread man to fire trucks to many types of animals. There are some old favorites such as "Jack and the Beanstalk" and "Little Red Riding Hood." I heartily recommend this book.

Very well worth the money. Be sure to get this older edition for it has more pages and stories than the new editions. :)

Perfect bedtime reading

My parents bought this for my son when he was born almost 4 years ago. We've been reading it at bedtime for over a year now and it is fantastic. My son loves getting to choose his story, and his father and I love not having to read the same thing every night. The stories are simple and fun and the perfect length for settling down. Highly recommended.

great illustrations

This is a great book if you're looking for both classic and unique stories. The illustrations are bright and uncomplicated, on wonderful shiny paper. Great baby shower gift.

Very good

My four year old daughter has to have a story read to her every night before bed time. These are short enough to where she doesn't get board and I don't get winded from such a long book. She loves it. I would recomend this to all parents out there
