We did not have a farm in Africa, but we had a farm in Appalachia for 34 years lived 38 years in this region. The time we spent there changed us more than it changed the farm. It was a love affair with Nature that had a beginning, a middle and an end, much like the seasons of our lives. for that reason, this book of poetry is arranged as Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. In the poetry you will see the metaphors of life and relationships, which cover everything from food from the garden, to the ecstasy of discovering Nature's pleasures after leaving an urban lifestyle. Some poems are verses as simple as nursery rhymes, others are more complex. Most have double meanings, but decide for yourself: The blue sky is higher in Hopewell --The night is on fire in Hopewell--the moon and its shimmer, the stars and their glimmer like no other place on earth.
