We are born free and for one reason or another, we unconsciously and slowly create the very chains that enslave us throughout our lifetime. Our lives, our value and the sense of our worthiness becomes driven by these chains: our accepted identities, beliefs, and perceptions pushing us to center life on what is happening around us rather than what is happening within us. The lens through which we view and perceive the world imprisons us rather than free us.
Negativity and pessimism slowly conquers our inner world like colonists conquering the lands of Africa, or aboriginal lands; like weeds sneakily invading a garden. Before you know it, you have surrendered your freedom to a constructed personality which imprisons you, even though you hold the keys to your freedom and never realize it. With the presence of infinite possibilities at any given moment, we personalize these concepts of negativity, pessimism, and our imaginations become centered on the worst possible scenarios. We create catastrophic visualizations in our mental screen and are continuously polarized to negative ends rather than the opposite. Arising from these "self-erected mental chains are emotions of anger, guilt, excuses, depression, anxiety, immobilization which perpetuate more chains, eventually leading to death even though we are alive (walking dead). These emotions become the mirror through which we view the world.
Breaking my self-erected chains is a compilation of 365 daily affirmations, which have helped me navigate my mental struggles throughout 2022. These daily affirmations challenged the status quo of my mental state and with daily practices of prayer (meditation), visualization and the continuous presence of my awareness within, it slowly transformed my perceived thoughts into conceived thoughts that empower and free me.Through consistency, adaptation, and perseverance, you may also reap the same benefits, such as seeing opportunities where you would see challenges, lessons instead of failure, love instead of fear, humanity rather than morality, optimism instead of pessimism, growth possibilities instead of stagnation, progress instead of movement. You will find yourself more and more centered in the source of all things, which is a reflection of the self within the self. I hope this daily compilation of affirmations transforms you like it did me.
