35 Stories is a collection of stories written and compiled by Many Mansions in recognition of its 35 year anniversary of its founding. Many Mansions is a California nonprofit affordable housing and service provider located in the City of Thousand Oaks and throughout Ventura County. Its mission is to develop and maintain well-managed affordable housing with on-site supportive and life-enriching services for low- income individuals and families of Ventura County and the Conejo Valley, with a special emphasis on residents who are very-low income, formerly homeless, and disabled. As Many Mansions celebrates its 35 year anniversary, we wanted to bring you stories from Many Mansions-stories from its residents, its staff members, its Board members, its volunteers, and its community partners. This book contains a diverse set of stories-some from our founding, some from our recent past; some humorous, some tragic; some happy, some sad; some uplifting, some poignant. These are complicated stories--as complicated, as diverse, and as rich as the thousands of lives that have been affected by Many Mansions since its founding in 1979.
