Beginning with the flight from Fort Lewis, Washington until the day he left Vietnam 323 days later, the story weaves its way, dealing with real life trials and at times arguments with God about those trials. Like any war story death, dismemberment, profanity and feelings are laced throughout. Probably not for the faint of heart; more than one story is told if the reader looks deeply enough. For most of those who came home from Vietnam the life sentence they are serving continues and will do so until they join their brothers in death.
