Good vampire book

Looking for something different than all the usual vampire books booming today? Here's the book for you. The vampires in this book have a mouth full of teeth, burning red eyes, no soul, but they do have personality. This isn't a romance novel, and it's not a teen book. Meet Laura and her girlfriend Clara. Laura is in prison and Malvern, the vampire is coming to kill her. Laura is a vampire hunter and Malvern has avoided her for many years. This book is action packed and will keep you glued to the pages. The ending left it open for a follow-up book. Malvern's plan becomes obvious in the end and I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. This is part of a series of books, which I didn't realize when I purchased the book. It's good as a stand alone or in the series. I plan on reading the rest of the series and look forward to these books. Although I'm not sure I'd read it again.

Another great book from the new master of horror, David Wellington. I just want his books to make it onto the movie screen!

Now this is a vampire story

This was my first read of David Wellington, we all have to start somewhere. I really enjoyed the story and the way you have the main character chasing a vampire inside the prison, she doesn't let up because she knows the next second could be her last. Armed with nothing but her vampire hunting smarts and saddled with a caffeine addicted celly, Laura is bound and determined to save her girlfriend and herself. Add a prison crowd that wants her dead and you've got an explosive battle on your hands.

terrific violent Vengeful Vampire thriller

Former cop turned vampire slayer and convict Laura Caxton are incarcerated at the Marcy State Correctional Institution in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. The maximum security prison is double the intend population with over 1300 of the worst dregs of humanity residing there. Laura is unconcerned as she eats soup in the cafeteria because she expects attacks and deaths, but not hers. However, when she anticipated corpses she thought she would be the cause. Instead the prison has a special guest, the oldest known vampire Justinia Malvern who dines on the local population with plans to have Laura as her just dessert within 23 hours of the hunter's arrival. Each human Justina drains she also converts. This is a terrific violent Vengeful Vampire thriller (see Vampire Zero, 13 Bullets and 99 Coffins) with a fascinating final twist that will stun fans. The story line is fast-paced and filled with plenty of blood and gore as expected by those who read this series. They also expect a High Midnight showdown, which they get. Laura's killing sprees is a trademark of the saga but the tale avoids the overall feel of repetition due to her diabolically brilliant opponent. Harriet Klausner

23 Hours, the 4th in the Laura Caxton vampire series, delivers again....just as every Wellington novel has. Quickly becoming one of the most consistent and prolific young horror writers out there, Wellington doesn't ease up one bit with 23 Hours. Super fast pace, page gripping action....and plenty of gore (of course), And it appears there is more to come....
