Writings included in this anthology are winning entries in the 2024 Write To Win Contest for Students and Teachers, sponsored by the Oklahoma Writing Project. Teachers of all subject areas from grades pre-K through 12 are invited to enter the 15 best writings they have received by the January contest deadline. There are seven different genres, from poetry to short story to sentence. This year 73 Oklahoma teachers entered 356 pieces of writing in the competition. Judges are teacher consultants for the Oklahoma Writing Project, all former teachers and all published writers. The Oklahoma Writing Project has been training teachers through summer institutes and staff development programs across the state since 1978. A site of the National Writing Project, OWP is a professional learning community that celebrates good teachers and good teaching.
