Let's get one thing straight. You don't need a verb book until you have finished a beginner's level greek course and are starting the intermediate level. So the complaint that this book doesn't contain a description of the greek alphabet is really stupid. Also, while the spelling uses the old 3 accents and breathing marks, that is also true for all greek books published prior to the spelling reform in 1982, such as this book which dates from 1980. If you plan on getting deeper into modern greek, then you better be prepared for some minor variations like this. Greek spelling has never been highly standardized like that of modern French. It is true that the printing quality is poor, but this is also true of most Greek newspapers and other periodicals, as well as many books published in Greece. Again, if you are really uptight about this sort of thing, you might want to reconsider learning Greek. As far as I'm concerned, this book does what it is supposed to do, which is to allow you to read through a whole bunch of verbs until you begin to see the patterns, at which point you can throw the book away. I see no reason to pay $36 for the other book of Greek verbs. Books of verb conjugations are basically a dumb idea, except for a brief learning period. I say this on the basis of having learned to speak French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian previously, as well as studying Greek now.

This book is absolutely essential for any student of modern Greek. The book has full conjugations of 201 modern greek verbs in ALL the tenses. It is such a big help for travel, translations, studies & more. If you want to speak & write Greek using correct grammar, you NEED this book...
